    I bought one of these to upgrade by Fisher. Assembly took around 10 minutes, and the instructions were easy to follow. I then went straight in with trying to print some polycarbonate, which is notorious for warping. The results were great, it stuck well to the buildtak I had put on the heat bed, and heated to 85C, no warping at all. If you want to try printing with some of the more difficult/warp prone filaments like polycarbonate/ABS/Nylon, then I highly recommend getting one of these kits.

    The addition of a heatbed has really extended the capability and flexibility of my Fisher printer. The upgrade was really straight forward and did not take very long at all. I used kapton tape to print on initially, but I subsequently fitted a BuildTak surface and this has worked a treat, by eliminating the need for periodic kapton re-application and ensuring good adhesion… sometimes a little too good!. I initially starting using the heatbed with PLA and this immediately improved the quality and reliability of my prints, as without the bed I was sometimes getting a little base warping on larger items, but raising the bed temperature to 60 degrees has totally eliminated this and produced some good quality prints. I have now started printing in ABS for the first time. I must have been fortunate in finding the sweet spot for the material I was using, as my first print results, a Fisher fan duct upgrade and spare, have been first class. I have certainly found the heatbed to be a good addition and investment!
